WASO | Morning Symphony Series
The sounds of Spain and Mexico
Set your heart racing with sultry Spanish rhythms and thrilling music inspired by Mayan folklore, all under the baton of acclaimed Peruvian conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya. Chano Urueta’s 1939 film La noche de los Mayas is celebrated for Revueltas’ vivid score. Building from a brooding but powerful ritualistic opening, the music reaches a mesmerising apex with an eruption of percussion.
