Passionate and poignant - Tchaikovsky’s final symphony.
Tchaikovsky’s Pathétique Symphony is one of the greatest of all Romantic works. Its richly-coloured melodies trace a tumultuous struggle with fate, as the romantic yearning and potent energy of the opening movement declines inexorably into the devastating lament of the finale. Swedish conductor Daniel Blendulf makes his WASO debut with this remarkable symphony.
