One of the world's finest Wagnerian tenors and Bruckner’s spacious grandeur.
Principal Conductor Asher Fisch opens this concert with Wagner’s visionary Prelude to Parsifal and is then joined by one of the world’s greatest singers, Australian tenor Stuart Skelton, for a hand-picked selection of Wagner arias. Anton Bruckner’s sense of religious awe found its voice in symphonies of epic scale and grand design that impart a sense of profound monumentality. His final symphony builds upon Wagner’s harmonic innovations and anticipates Mahler with its ecstatic visions and cataclysmic collapses.
