Eight of Western Australia’s brightest young professional string players and a brilliant young pianist come together to create an exhilarating program of chamber music, from trio to octet.
The program culminates in a performance of Mendelssohn’s Octet, a dazzling work of great vitality and beauty, written when the composer was only 16 years old. According to Conrad Wilson, “Its youthful verve, brilliance and perfection make it one of the miracles of nineteenth-century music.”
