Alessandro Pittorino
Set in the extraordinary Gothic skyscrapers of a corporate city-state, Metropolis is one of the most iconic films ever made.
The year is 2026. Society has been divided into two rigid groups: one of planners and thinkers, who live high above the earth in luxury, and another of workers who live underground, toiling to sustain the lives of the privileged.
Superstar organist Alessandro Pittorino returns to command the 3000-pipe organ at Perth Concert Hall to accompany the first ever sci-fi silent film for this one-night-only event. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to watch the 1927 Halloween classic with a live film score improvised before your eyes and ears.
Pittorino’s 2021 Halloween show was a 5-star success, with Limelight Magazine praising him as “a virtuoso organist and a top-flight musician whose enthusiasm for the organ and for its artistic future is refreshing and addictive”.
