The elegant lyricism of Mozart and Brahms re-imagined. 

Latvian violinist Baiba Skride has been praised for her “silken lyricism’” and “lean, brilliant sound”, qualities which are ideally suited to Mozart’s elegant Fourth Violin Concerto. This youthful work runs the breadth between virtuosic display and sublime tenderness. Schoenberg’s early masterpiece Verklärte Nacht is suffused with profound romantic yearning and his colourful orchestral arrangement of Brahms’ Piano Quartet No.1 makes for an exhilarating climax to this rich and varied concert.
