Armistead Maupin & Ian McKellen

A Live Stream directly from the UK

Perth Concert Hall are delighted to partner with FANE to present a special one-off online event*.
Stream it directly to the comfort of your home - for a limited time only!

Available to watch online on 13 August 2020 from 1:30am AWST until 15 August 2020 AWST (broadcast live from the UK).

Join Armistead Maupin & Sir Ian McKellen, as the much-loved author and actor discuss their iconic careers and shared LGBTQ+ activism from London’s magnificent Crazy Coqs cabaret club, available to view on demand until 1:30am WAST, Saturday 15th August 2020.

Don’t miss the chance to witness one of America’s greatest storytellers behind the trailblazing Tales of the City series, as he recounts his favourite tales from the past four decades, sharing engaging observations on society and the world we inhabit with Sir Ian McKellan.

Armistead brought together the world of emerging queer culture and has been one of its most celebrated voices, credited with freeing many from the stigma of coming out through his writings and friendship. So it was with Sir Ian, who co-founded Stonewall in 1988, appointed as a Companion of Honour in 2007 by Queen Elizabeth II for “outstanding achievements as an actor and also for his work in championing the causes of diversity.” Yas Queen!
