BLOG REPOST: Hear more with Vision

Berlin’s Vision String Quartet has carved a niche for itself in the international music scene. The prize-winning ensemble, made up of four young string players – Florian Willeitner (violin), Daniel Stoll (violin), Leonard Disselhorst (cello) and Sander Stuart (viola)  – is known for its versatility and innovative approach to classical music, performing a dynamic blend of traditional chamber works and more contemporary pieces. But what is perhaps most unique about Vision String Quartet is that its members play everything from memory.

In just a few weeks, the beloved ensemble will make its Australian debut with Musica Viva Australia, performing in 10 different locations around the country, including right here at Perth Concert Hall. In the lead up to this exciting tour, Musica Viva Australia recently spoke to the members of Vision String Quartet about the upcoming tour program, what prompted them to start performing music from memory, how they prepare for concerts, and more.
