In anticipation of this exciting show, we spoke to Marty about his career highlights, his love for Cliff Richard, and what to listen out for on the night.

You and Mark Andrew will be paying tribute to two legendary musicians, Cliff Richard and Elvis Presley, which cannot be an easy feat! In your opinion, what makes a great tribute concert?

The quality of the performing artists and their ability to take you on a magical journey of nostalgia.

You’ve performed Cliff Richard’s music a number of times over the past 15 years. What is it about Cliff’s music that you love so much?

Its simplicity and its suitability to Cliff’s style, which has made him one of the most durable and timeless artists ever.

Which Cliff and Elvis songs should audiences be most excited for in the upcoming show?

Suspicious Minds, American Trilogy, Devil Woman, Summer Holiday, plus the duet they perform together and the moving tribute to Freddie Mercury.

Of course, you’re not just a tribute artist – you yourself have had an impressive solo music career. Looking back, what have been some of the highlights?

Achieving a Gold Record for Denim & Lace, winning the World Popular Song Festival in Tokyo, and my acting roles including The King & I with the great Yul Brynner on the London stage.

Just for fun: If someone put on a Marty Rhone tribute concert, who would you want to play you?

A gene mix of Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, and Cliff Richard. The sexiness of Elvis, the longevity of Cliff, and the moves of Michael Jackson. I could then reflect back at 80 and think WOW!
