BLOG REPOST: How Brisbane band george made classic Aussie album Polyserena

In 2002, Brisbane rock band george’s first studio album Polyserena debuted at No. 1 on the Australian charts, making them only the 10th Australian band in history to do so with a debut album. Featuring hit singles ‘Special Ones’, ‘Breathe In Now’, ‘Spawn’ and more, Polyserena spent 36 weeks in the top 50 of the ARIA Album Chart, achieved platinum status within just three weeks and by the end of the year had gone double platinum.

This December, george’s lead vocalists Katie and Tyrone Noonan will join forces to perform Polyserena in full for Perth audiences, celebrating the legendary album’s 20th anniversary. The powerhouse musical siblings will be joined by Brandon Mamata on guitar, Steele Chabau on bass and Katie's son Dexter Hurren on drums.

Earlier this year, the ABC published a wonderful article about george’s journey to success and the creation and lasting impact of Polyserena
