Perth Concert Hall’s shows would not be what they are without our Ticketing Client Accounts Team. Literally. This amazing team at the hall handle the ticketing requirements for upcoming, present and past events.

Their role involves liaising with multiple parties internally and externally to offer personalised ticketing solutions that are best suited for clients. They build the shows on the Hall's ticketing system as well as reporting on and settling performances. Constantly working from the very start of a show’s creation to its conclusion.

This week, we caught up with Talei, one of our sweetest staff members here at the Hall that always brings in the fun. We grabbed the low down on the interesting aspects of her job, what she’s excited to see next in the Hall and had a bit of fun with some not Hall related questions.

1. How long have you been working in the industry for?

I've been working within the arts and events industries for close to 7 years.

2. How long have you been working at Perth Concert Hall for? Where were you before this?

So far I have spent 3.5 years working at the Perth Concert Hall. I have also worked within the Box Offices of the Perth Theatre Trust venues, Perth Arena and Crown Theatre Perth. Prior to my work in the Box Offices, I was a member of the management team for the City of Swan's HyperFest.

3. What is atypical day for you in the office?

Check my emails, update clients on ticket sales for their upcoming shows and assist with issuing tickets, reply to emails, meet with Marketing to discuss future events, make a cuppa and...send a few more emails.

4. In your career so far, what has been the biggest challenge you've had to face?

Deciding which performances I would like to book a ticket to.

5. For anyone wanting to get into your field of work, do you have any wise words of wisdom to pass along?

Volunteering is important and a great way to gain skills and begin building your network within the arts industry.

6. Is there a show at Perth Concert Hall that you've seen that has stuck with you since? What was it? And what did you enjoy or dislike about it?

In 2014 I saw Hugh Laurie and the Copper Bottom Band take the stage (click here to check them out). The main reason I booked a ticket was to see Hugh Laurie aka Dr. House / George (Blackadder). It was a great performance. I left with a deep appreciation for the Copper Bottom Band and a new found love for blues music!

7. Are there any shows coming up this year you are looking forward to? Why?

Mountain presented by the Australian Chamber Orchestra on the 9th of August (more info & tix here). I am still familiarising myself with classical music, but watching a cinematic piece about mountains accompanied by a chamber orchestra performing live and onstage sounds like a mighty great way to spend an evening.

8. If you have the opportunity to create an event for any international or local act of any genre past or present, who would it be and why?

Tame Impala with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (agreed by most of the staff here at the Hall). Both groups are iconic to WA's musical landscape and it'd be so special to merge the two and create something magical!

9. If you where a famous performer, what request would you make for your rider?

An unlimited supply of Sour Blood Plum gelato from Chicho Gelato, a handful of ripe papayas and mangoes, sparkling water and a deck of UNO cards.

10. Lastly, what are your favourite three songs you've been listening to at the moment?

1. 'You Can't Hurry Love' by The Supremes (I have simultaneously binged on the Phil Collins' cover too)

2. 'Rewind' by Kelela

3. 'Ubu' by Methyl Ethel (the music video was partly filmed at the Perth Concert Hall, check it out here!!!)
